According to UN guidelines, recycled plastics are "materials that have been recovered from used industrial packaging, cleaned and prepared for processing into new packaging". In the future, post-consumer recyclate should also be able to be used for packaging for the transport of dangerous goods.

Together with the International Standards Organisation (ISO) and other European experts, I am working on the new version of EN ISO 16103 'Packaging for the transport of dangerous goods (recycled plastics)' to define the necessary measures for the use of post-consumer recyclate.
